Thinkweb is committed to making thethinkweb.com usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, rely on magnification, or need reduced motion.

The standard we work to

We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the benchmark referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act in practice, and the one we hold both this site and the software we build for clients to.

We do not use an accessibility overlay or a plugin that claims to fix accessibility automatically. Those products do not repair the underlying markup, and disabled users consistently report that they make sites harder to use, not easier. We fix the code.

What we have done

• Every meaningful image carries alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Every form field has a label a screen reader can announce, not just a visual caption.
• A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.
• The page uses real landmarks — header, navigation, main, footer — so assistive tech can jump between them.
• Colour combinations are checked against the 4.5:1 contrast minimum in both light and dark themes.
• The mobile menu and every dialog can be closed with the Escape key, not only by clicking.
• Interactive controls show a visible focus indicator when reached by keyboard.
• Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.

Where we currently fall short

We would rather say this plainly than claim full conformance. As of the date above we are aware of the following:

• Some interactive rows and cards inside our client software respond to a mouse click but are not yet reachable by keyboard. Work is in progress.
• We have not yet completed formal testing with users who rely on assistive technology day to day. Automated checking catches only a portion of real barriers, and we do not want to imply more coverage than we have.
• Embedded third-party content, such as video players, may not fully meet AA.

How this statement is maintained

Accessibility checks run as part of our normal development process, so regressions are caught before release rather than after. We review this statement whenever we make a significant change to the site, and at least once a year.
